And the winners are…….. InSimu & MindTech
The IBM CSC Hu 1 Team facilitated the Community Service Day hosted by H13 on October 15th, 2018. The purpose of this day was to give local startup companies the chance to learn from and network with the IBM CSC team experts who are in Hungary for the month of October. The IBM CSC (Corporate Services Corp) is a program that focuses on providing pro-bono consultants onsite to support non-profit organizations with various community challenges. The team of 14 is split into 4 subteams each of which is working with a local NGO for the month (IVSZ, BEA, Impact-HUB & FIEK). This CSD was designed as a part of this work.
The day started with the introductory talks by Péter Rehus, the IBM Hungary Country Director, Zoltán Zékány, the director of H13 and Piroska Szalai, Chair of BVK. This was followed by a Enterprise Design Thinking education session which included 2 actual examples of how this concept works.
The day continued with 5 “consulting stations” – tables where the IBM team members were available to speak individually with each startup to answer questions they might have about their companies. The topics ranged from HR, legal, education, project & program management, consulting, technical and marketing.
The startups were then given time to prepare and present their “pitches” – 3 minutes in front of a panel of judges to showcase what they are all about.
The judges consisted of Piroska Szalai, Péter Szalay and Ferenc Pongrácz. After 30 minutes of pitches, the judges left the room to make their final decision. Thirty minutes later, the judges returned and announced that they had a lot of deliberation, and finaly agreed that two of the startup were co-winners! InSimu and MindTech! Each will receive two days of free consulting from IBM on startup related topics. Congratulations to the winners!
The feedback was positive, and many new friends and connections were made throughout the day. The IBM CSC Hu1 Team wishes all of the startups the best of luck in the future!
